At Midreshet Lindenbaum, our students’ health and safety is of paramount importance to us. Our support system includes our excellent team of eim bayit (dorm mother) and madrichot, who all live in the dormitory with the students and are available 24/7. A madricha checks on the students each morning as well as at sign-in every night, and we ask that each student lets us know if she (or a roommate) is not feeling well, so that we can help her in whatever way she needs, whether it’s bringing her tea or a meal, or helping her get the medication she needs.
The medical insurance company we work with, Egert and Cohen insurance, has faithfully guided us in providing the best health services for our students for over 30 years. Through Egert&Cohen, our students are insured either by a travel policy provided by the Harel Group, or through the Maccabi Kupat Cholim “Well-come” Program, which gives our students all of the benefits of full participation in the Israeli health care system. With either Harel or Maccabi, the students have access to an English-speaking medical clinic, Jerusalem based emergency clinics and, in the case of an emergency, chas v’shalom, cover for hospitalization.
In addition to basic medical care and insurance coverage, our students also participate in Egert&Cohen’s Chai Program, which provides weekly visits with an in-house school nurse, telemedicine services with a qualified physician’s assistant, and access to specialist appointments and procedures when needed.
